Research Tools

The Archives and Research Library provides a number of different tools to help researchers access and make better use of the collections online. An overview of the available research tools can be found below.

Link to our Library Catalog to search the print and manuscript holdings. Use this tool to:

  • Start your research
  • Search all of our available holdings
  • Look for both Primary and Secondary source materials

Link to our Image Database to search our digital holdings of photographs, art, objects and artifacts from the collection. Online browsing and searching capabilities are available. Use this tool to:

  • Look for a digital version of a photograph
  • See the variety of our holdings
  • Incorporate historical images or images of historical artifacts in a presentation

Link to our Collection Resource Guides. Often referred to as finding aids, they are descriptive inventories, indexes, or guides that have been created to describe and to provide access to the contents of manuscript collections or archival records. Use these tools to

  • Look for only primary source materials
  • Have a specific collection in mind
