As with most personal photo collections, a number of the snapshots in the collection depict special occasions; this holds true for the Bessie Miller Collection.
Although it is unfortunately impossible to know how the next two photos were originally arranged in the scrapbook since they have been removed from the pages, one can easily imagine them side by side, or at least on adjacent pages. The following photos of what appears to be a pajama party provide an excellent illustration of this situation.
Photo 1: Snapshot of three young women at what appears to be a pajama party, with drinks.
Photo 2: Five young women in pajamas are playing cards on a bed, seemingly at the same party shown above.
Another set of photos depicting special occasions was clearly pasted into the scrapbook together, as seen below. However, it is not clear whether these pictures are related in any way to one another. Detail images follow.
Photo 3: Two images pasted side-by-side in the scrapbook. A man wears a tuxedo and top hat and smokes a cigar; a couple appears in a suit and dress, both wearing hats. While we don’t know for certain that these pictures were taken on the same occasion, it is easy to imagine this was the case.
