About The Archives and Research Library

Welcome to the Online Archives and Research Library website of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, where we provide online access to our archival collections.
While you can visit the Museum to see our Exhibitions and Collections, we would also like to provide virtual access to our collections which includes Collection Resource Guides, Digital Collections, Virtual Exhibitions, and our Research Tools.
Visit the museum for our current exhibitions, Tuesday thru Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 1pm – 5pm. The Louise Lovett Wright Library & Archives and the Robert L. Hurst Research Center is open to the public Tuesday to Friday 9a – 5p, as well as on Saturdays by appointment. For access to collections and for answers to specific questions, please schedule an appointment to meet with the archivist. We are a reference library, materials from the collection such as books do not circulate. Items must be read at the library, visitors are welcome to return as often as they like.
Please note - Although museum staff is responsible for providing content to the site, we would like to engage the community by enlisting your help to provide additional information by contacting us.
